Le Rose Bride - Laura

What is your name?

Laura Schipanski

 Wedding date and location?

Noosa, Queensland 30th of August 2019

How did he propose?

It was perfect! Josh proposed to me on my birthday, the 17th of August 2018 in our brand new home. I was in my PJ’s in bed that morning opening my birthday present. I was reading the birthday card and down the bottom of the card, it said ‘will you be my wife?’. At this moment my hands were shaking and Josh had left the room and came back in with a bottle of wine, a bunch of flowers and the ring. He came around to my side of the bed and got down on one knee and proposed to me. It was a special moment that was nice and relaxed, which suits both of us as a couple.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

My number one goal was to make sure that our guests enjoyed themselves. Having a destination wedding gave a relaxed feel, where I felt we were on a big holiday all week with our guests! We were very lucky to have our close friends and family all fly up to sunny Queensland to share this special moment with us.

We decided to do something a little different for the guests in between the ceremony and reception. We transported guests via boats along the river for a sunset cruise, while  enjoying drinks and canapés. This was a highlight for most of our guests! We also knew food and good music were big  factors to consider, so that guests could have a good night. We decided to take a trip to Noosa in October 2018 to look at venues. We looked at three different venues, but our heart was set on Noosa Boathouse. We loved the relaxed vibe, panoramic views of the Noosa River and the delicious food! When we were visiting Noosa, we booked in there for dinner one evening. We knew after tasting their food, that this was the spot! The food is all local and fresh produce from the  Sunshine Coast. Also the team at Noosa Boathouse looked after all of our guests to perfection. The level of service was outstanding and all of our guests commented on this.

Everyone certainly left our wedding with sore feet! The wonderful band from White Tree, with Bec and Glin as vocalist were amazing! They played at our ceremony and the reception on the day.

Our songs for the day were;

Aisle- Ellie Goulding- How long will I love you

Recessional- Bob Marley- One Love

First Dance Song- Tori Kelly I Was Made for Loving You

How did you choose Le Rose for your wedding?

My mum had actually seen Le Rose on her facebook and she told me to have a look at their website. They were packaged so beautifully, ready for my  bridesmaids. I was very happy.

What did you like the most about your Le Rose Pyjamas?

I honestly can’t recommend these Pyjamas enough. The quality its amazing and the satin is so soft and breathable to wear. I now can’t wash them quick enough each week so I can wear them again!

Were there any funny moments from the day?

Josh was stalked by a lady on the walk to the ceremony with the groomsmen. She followed them along the board walk, while giving Josh a D&M conversation about what marriage means to her! I’m glad he was still convinced by her pet talk and made it to the ceremony!

What was your favourite moment while getting ready in your Le Rose Pyjamas?

We stayed at Seahaven on Hasting Street in one of their Penthouses along the beach. It  was so lovely the morning of our wedding to have a light champagne breakfast overlooking Noosa Main Beach. Makeup and Hair started at 7am so we were able to feel comfortable in our PJ’s while we got ready. I chose the Rosa Satin PJ’s for my 5 bridesmaids and myself. They had the Champagne with black piping for their names while I had the white. My mum also wore the Karuna robe in white.

What wisdom or advice can you share to other Le Rose Brides?

Enjoy the planning by laughing together and not always taking it so seriously,      sharing the work load and taking time away from it all, to enjoy the reason why you’re getting married in the first place. We had months where we wouldn’t open our emails and just enjoy our time together. We would have certain nights of the week where we make sure we didn’t talk wedding!

For the ladies, you need to have a planner. It is a must! I was gifted from my best friend, the amazing Bride Tribe organiser which helped me stay on track week by week. If it wasn’t in the allocated week, I knew I didn’t need to worry  about it. The teacher in me also created a wedding folder, with all my budget tracking, visual boards etc.
