How did he propose?

Oh goodness! This is a great story! My now husband and I had been in a long distance relationship for a year ( he lived in Chicago, IL and I in Seattle, WA) and had decided to end the long distance by me joining him in Chicago. One weekend in June 2017, he flew to Seattle to help me pack up my apartment and make the long drive to the Windy City.  Due to the big move, my friend and I planned a going away party for one last hoorah. My closest friends and family RSVPd and I was excited to spend time with them before we left. About 3 hours before the party, my good friends and now husband suggested we go out on their boat one last time. What sounded like a great idea at first, slowly turned chaotic when it started pouring down raining right as we were leaving the dock. As all my friends know, I do not do well with my hair getting wet so I was a little tense to say the least and suggested we turn around and go get ready for the party tonight. However, My sister, friends, and now husband all were adamant about going to a specific bar on the water for a drink and view of the city before we turned back home. So, we all huddled under blankets until we reached our destination where we had a cocktail in the rain overlooking the city skyline. When our glasses were empty, I was very anxious to get out of the rain and ready for the going away party that night. My sister, however, had other plans and wanted to get pictures on the end of the dock. I was not very excited about this to say the least but eventually agreed. When we got up to the dock, one of my best friends (who photographed the whole thing) quickly pushed my now husband into the place of my sister and said she wanted pictures of us too. While standing in the now drizzle on the end of the dock looking over the city, I turn to my now husband for a picture and he grabbed my hands and got down on 1 knee asking me to be his wife. IT WAS MAGICAL. They had all planned the entire thing and I was absolutely surprised. Without the rain, I don't know if I would have been so oblivious to what was going on but it was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Then, after all this surprise, instead of going to my "going away party" my friends and now husband threw a surprise engagement party on a house boat on Lake Union and one of my best friends from New York flew in to celebrate. THE BEST DAY EVER (until our wedding of course :) ).

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

The goal for our wedding was for everyone to have so much fun that they would not want to leave. We wanted everything to be elegant, accessible, and FUN! The most important aspect to us was having our closest family and friends there to celebrate our love and for the atmosphere to be stress free so everyone could enjoy the beautiful view with good vibes and amazing food and drinks.

How did you choose Le Rose for your wedding robes?

I have always wanted a simple and elegant style and color palate for my wedding and I wanted to make sure I chose a robe for myself and my bridesmaids that was flattering on everyone, photographed beautifully, and was something my bridesmaids could use everyday and not just on my wedding day. I searched the internet and had no luck until searching on Etsy where I just happened to find Le Rose by chance (THANK GOODNESS). Once I found the Lauren Lace Satin Robe in the Champagne Color and white for me, I knew they were the ones! When they came in, they were all individually packaged and finished with a ribbon! So pretty!

What did you like the most about your Le Rose robes?

I loved how comfortable they were and that they were STUNNING on all of my bridesmaids regardless of body type/size. My bridesmaids still wear them! They were excellent quality and they photographed beautifully.

Were there funny moments from the day?

The entire day was absolutely perfect (thanks to our wedding planner Andrea Leslie and her amazing team) and we had THE BEST TIME.  Some of the more funny moments I remember from were drinking champagne with a straw so I wouldn't mess up my lipstick, getting rabbit poop on my train and having people try to get it off with tide to go pens before the ceremony, my bridesmaids singing "GOING TO THE CHAPEL" at the top of their lungs while riding on the golf carts to the ceremony spot, and 2 of my friends from college running in as I was about to walk down the aisle with my Dad!

What was your favourite moment while getting ready in your robe?

My favorite moment while getting ready in our robes was being surrounded by my cousins, bridesmaids, mom, and grandma and getting to celebrate with them by my side. We truly felt so comfortable and pretty in our robes which made the getting ready process that much better! I loved being surrounded by those I love the most and having those moments captured so beautifully.

What wisdom or advice can you share to other Le Rose Brides?

My advice for other Le Rose Brides is to take a few moments throughout the day to really step back and look at all of the people who love and support you and your partner. The day goes by in the blink of an eye and all the planning you have done up to that moment comes and goes. Cherish each part of the day/night and take it all in! Most of all, HAVE FUN!
